Opening hours are displayed on our appointments page
Pendleside Medical Practice is situated in a convenient town centre location with good bus and rail links immediately adjacent to the health centre building. In addition there is a pay and display car park opposite the main entrance and some disabled parking directly in front of the health centre main entrance. Once inside the building the reception area and all consulting rooms are to be found on the ground floor.
Sight For blind or partially sighted patients the receptionist will advise the patient when their appointment is due and then they will be escorted to their appointment. Practice leaflets are available in Braille or large print on request
Hearing
A hearing loop assists deaf patients as well as those with partial hearing without compromising conversation confidentiality. It removes unwanted background noise picked up by a hearing aid. A visual display is used to alert patients that their consultation is ready to commence.
Language
A touch screen booking in system is in use that allows patients to announce their arrival. This also works in languages other than English. Interpreters can be arranged on request with prior notification. Please note, consultations are generally provided in English unless other arrangements have been made.
Home Visits
For housebound patients or those too ill to attend surgery home visits are available. Phone as early in the day as possible as this allows visits to be scheduled into the days surgeries. Please be prepared to give the receptionist a brief description of the problem and a contact telephone number. Please note that visits reduce the number of patients a medical professional can see in any one day and can impact on patients booked into to see their GP.
