June 2010 

On Saturday 12 June Pendleside GP's, staff, family and friends walked 20 miles to raised money for Carole Kay's trip to Tanzania to work with the Bethany Project.  Carole and her daughters will be working with the Bethany children for three weeks.  They were able to raise more than £400.00.  Well done to all involved. 

May 2010

Carole Kay, Anna Knight, Ruth Jackson and Susan Askew ran a coffee morning to raise money for Diabetes UK.  Lots of cakes were sold which were kindly given by members of staff and many enjoyed tea and toast.  The total sum raised was £191.00. 

April 2010Ruth Jackson was appointed as Office Manager and Susan Askew appointed as Administration Officer.  Sarah Hampson also completed her modern apprenticeship and is now a Clerical Assistant.
April 2010Kirsty Downham, one of our part time receptionists, has begun training as a Health Care Assistant.  Once qualified she will work alongside the practice nurses.
March 2010A warm welcome to Elizabeth Lawton who has joined us as part time receptionist.
September 2009Carla Boyer and Helen Kirkwood both left the practice to take up their nurse training.  They were very valued members of the team and will be missed.   
June 2009

Well done to all those who took part in the Great Manchester Run. Between them they raised £552.50  for various different charities. Thank you to all who donated.

EMIS Access has been switched over to the hugely successful beta version - meaning it's now up to four times faster and more robust during peak times.

February 2009Michelle Turnbull left the Ribblesdale District Nursing Team in September 2008 and has been replaced by Karen Counsell. 
November 2008Thank you to all who participated/donated for the Health Centre's "wear something silly to work day" £100 was raised for Children in Need.

Well done to Dr Warren who raised £211 for Cancer Research by completing her first Triathalon. 

August 2008Well done to all who participated in The 3 Peaks of North Yorkshire Challenge.  £1331 was raised for The Stroke Association in memory of Susan Harper.  Thank you to all who donated.
July 2008Dr Raza has left the practice to take up a post at Waterfoot Health Centre, Rossendale.  He has been well liked by colleagues and patients alike and we wish him every success in his new job.
June 2008To help celebrate Marie Curie's 60th Birthday the practice held a "Blooming Great Tea Party".  Money was raised from the sale of tea, toast, cakes and tombola raffle prizes.  A total of £180 was raised for Marie Curie.  A special thanks to the Practice Nurses and Ruth Jackson for organising the event.
May 2008

Pendleside Medical Practice has organised The 3 Peaks of North Yorkshire Challenge.  This is to take place on 19th July 2008 in aid of the stroke association in Memory of Susan Harper who was a Medical Secretary for the Practice for 16 years who sadly passed away in December 2007.

 

 

There is a £5 entry fee and sponsorship and donations are welcome.  For more information or a sponsorship form please contact Sue Askew on 01200 413600.  Back up transport and assistance will be available.  Join in the fun!

May 2008

Well done to the Pendleside girls who managed to raise £570 by completing the 5 Kilometre Race for Life run (some walked!) at Broughton Hall in Skipton.

 

April 2008Acupuncture will continue to be provided for Pendleside patients, despite funding being withdrawn. The practice believes it is an important option in the treatment of many conditions and should be available to patients under supervision, ideally from a medically qualified person or from one of the allied professions. Patients from other practices will continue to have access to it, but this will be on a private basis. Details of fees are freely available from the practice.

February 2008We are extremely sorry to say goodbye to Jean Hartley when she retires at the end of February. Jean has worked on reception for the last 14 years and has been a much valued member of staff. She will be missed by us all.

Dr Joe Davis joined the practice.  He is a Registrar and will be with the practice for 12 months. 
December 2007On Tuesday 18th December the practice was re-accredited for Investors in People. The award is granted to businesses that achieve success through their employees.  The award is given for three years and the assessors were delighted with many aspects of our practice.  For information visit the Investors in People website.
