Pendleside Medical Practice
The practice was founded in 1926 by Dr Joseph Fairweather, who set up surgery on Wellgate. In November 1975 the practice moved into Clitheroe Health Centre which has a large well-equipped treatment room and a dispensary. In 2007 the Health Centre was extended and upgraded to provide a better waiting area for patients and increased capacity for consultations.
The practice is committed to the development of Clitheroe Community Hospital where patients can be cared for by their own doctors if their condition is suitable for treatment there. The hospital includes facilities such as X-ray and outpatient clinics. The doctors can also refer patients to Clitheroe Physiotherapy Centre. The aim is to bring as many services as possible into the Ribble Valley for the convenience of patients.
